• 1A new key blade (either a traditional car key or a laser remote control flip key) must be cut accurately to unlock the doors and fit the ignition.
• 2The transponder chip inside the replacement Car Key must be electronically “paired” to your BMW vehicle so the ECU recognises it when the key turns in the ignition.
• 3The remote fob (if opted for one) needs to be synced to the vehicle as well in order for the central locking to work.

BMW’s have a complicated system in terms of dealing with lost keys. Most cars the keys can be programmed via diagnostics port of the vehicle on these cars older models we have to remove EWS whilst newer models we sometimes have to remove CAS unit if the CAS has been upgraded by the dealer to latest firmware.
